10:21:12 Mila had lain languidly in bed on this fine, Sunday morn until it had suited her to rise and not a minute before noon. She was the last left in her dormitory but then, many of the girls had stayed abed late, for the Masquerade had been a late night, full of dancing, frivolity and they had crowded on each other’s beds well into the early hours of the morning, whispering in the dark about their adventures and pondering who was behind each mask. A tamed consumption of the spiked punch may have had something to do with while she was relishing in slothful sin, but then, maybe it was just how she would like to spend her Sunday? Weekends may not have been absent of rule, but they were absent of uniform and class. Mila prepared herself for the day with a quick shower, donned a pair of black tights and a brief, casual scarlet dress. Little ankle boots in black with laces were pulled on and then she was rushing down to the Hall to catch the last clippings of the Midday meal before it was cleared away. Hex was serious about that particular ruling. If you didn't attend the meals at the appropriate times, there would be no food for you. This wasn't one's own lodgings where they could just wander into the kitchen and take what they wanted but then, students stocked up on sweets and packets of this and that before each Semester started. The Black Market also had a hand in it. She ate the pilfered sandwich while she walked, a couple of heavy, ancient-looking tomes and notebooks under her free arm. It seemed just as she was swallowing her last bite that she sat herself down on the grass beneath a stray tree between fields and took to studying. It was a bit chilled, being England and no Summer month, but with a scarf hung fashionably around her neck Mila braved the cold. The girl lay on her stomach with books open and pen in hand, legs swinging occasionally as she lost herself in thought. Pausing between scrawling something or other with concentration, she took a bite of her apple here and there.
10:25:38 [Ciercy] She felt dry, looking down at her hands as the winter weather was starting to take its effect on her skin. A sort of feeling of tired overtook her as she started to clean her hands of the paints. Before her, the canvas looked little like anything. But, she could see much more in it than anymore else. A gift, for whomever she was to be secret Santa for. Ci looked over her shoulder, hearing movement outside of her studio class room and trying to clean a smudge from her cheek with the back of her hand. Long thin legs made her seem less than graceful in her walking to the door before it was pulled and the woman looked down the hall with her head tilted slightly. The sight of students migrating signaled her that it was time for ear. Still with paint upon her face and hands, the woman closed up the room and made her way that direction as well. Lose black slacks gave her legs the illusion of fullness, while a white shirt spoke of more stains that not. She wore this shirt only when she painted. She was standing taking a bit of something for herself when she saw Mila there. For now, the student was one in a sea of faces that meant little to the Mer past class itself. With a heavy sigh, Ci looked out one of the large windows and forced herself to keep her land legs a little while longer. Fresh air, thought it was by request. Ci was outside, leaning over the shoulder of a student and nodding at their sketches of one of the arches of the school. ” Yes, very good progress…” Her voice held a kind of accent, something eastern European but not quite easy to place past that.
10:46:34 Chase` stayed abed, looking up at the ceiling of the dormitory as the ambient light outside came in through the windows. He was a tad bit hung over, his head giving a soft throb every now and then. His hands rose to his face and his fingers dug at the corners of his eyes to rub away the sleep. He knew that lunch had been served and, while he wasn't really hungry, he figured he should get something in his stomach as well as a splash of something to drink. He sat up slowly before sliding out from under his comforter. He reached down to the footlocker stashed under his bed and he pulled out a paid of jeans that had plenty of dirt and grass stains on them. He pulled them on and then dug out the envelope he had found on his bed upon returning to it last night. This was clearly the person to whom he was acting as the secret santa. He sighed and pulled it open, reading the name on the card. At least it was a girl this year. He could probably find out a little about her and, if at all possible, take to crafting something with his powers. He enjoyed it, really. He dropped the envelope and note into the footlocker and rifled through the items before pulling out a stained dark red shirt that hade a few holes in it. One of the hazards of being an Earth Mage was that sometimes your clothes became casualties of the work you did with plants and such. He pulled on a pair of steel toe work boots after his socks and tied them tight, lowering the legs of his jeans down over them. His next stop was the bathroom to tug a comb through his shaggy, loose black curls. And then he was off. He entered the Hall and, walking along the Crux table he snatched up a pair of bananas and tall glass of OJ, which he downed on the spot. He nodded to his fellow classmates who knew and like him, stopping for a few comments on how the Masque fared for everyone. And then he headed outside. He peeled one of the bananas in his hand and took a bite, enjoying the ripe flavor as it hit his tongue. He saw Professor Ciercy talking to one of her art students and, if she noticed him walking a few yard's away he'd just give a polite wave before continuing on. But that was about where it all went wrong. He was passing beneath the outer limbs of a tree, paying attention to everything but where he was walking, and suddenly he was on his face in the dirt. His foot had hit something and when he looked, it was certainly better looking than a root. He had tripped over a girl's thigh, "Shit, my bad. I should have been paying attention to where I was going." The apology was immediate, because that's just how he was.
10:58:19 Mila was midway through her essay for Divination that Professor Weir had saddled them with, focusing on the 'exploration' the Master had termed it, of 'forethought' and the 'mind's eye'. Quite like a human student when it came to discussing a statement or quote pulled from whichever boring novel they had studied, Mila was more or less bullshitting her way through it and littering every sentence with an entire thesaurus and as many large, long-winded words that could come to mind. Whence the exclusive, internal mind is probed by the reckoning and interpretation of forethought, one must presume that they are in.. Just before her pen could etch another word into the parchment, something had bashed into her slim thigh and tumbled on top of her. “Euagh!” Her pen scrawled a line of ink across the page. She wasn't hurt, even though the missile had all but landed on top of her, simply startled from her mindless writing that she couldn't help but to cry out. The girl had all but dropped her half eaten apple and the pen in her other hand, and squirmed a little before righting herself, presuming the boy had thought to climb off her reclining form. The girl blew a strand of impractically long, dark hair for it had blown to hang over her face in her line of sight. “Uhm. No it's okay. I shouldn't really just be sprawled.. on the grass.” Free country, she could lie where she pleased but Mila was a fairly down to earth, sweet person. Well, she wasn't the nicest, but she was never mean unless the situation called for it.
11:12:14 Jacinth The glasses, were they for show, or were they genuinely needed? For paper work, of course, those deep hazels, nearly black pools of genuine softness faltered somewhat, when it came to doing sit down work, such as paperwork, and reading over the textbooks - like she needed to - to review the best treatment. Ripe, young, and lucious at twenty, Jacinth excelled and stood up above her teachers throughout school. It had only been natural that the woman had been hired before getting a change to breathe, let alone be swept up by another school, or medical facility. She was a must have, and have they did. The end of her pen found it's way to her mouth, where she gnawed on the end of it, as her eyes scrolled over the paperwork before her eyes. Removing it, she twirled the pen, and let it fall out of her fingers. "Wonderful." Oh, oh, sweetheart, what was that accent? Nothing British, Scottish or Irish. Nah. It sounded...Greek. "Done, done and..." She'd bat the page with her hand, as if to mock stamp it, and rose onto her feet. "Done." Beautiful, painted red lips curved upwards, into a smile that held a bit more flirt than perhaps it needed. Hands on her tiny waist, Jacinth turned, flipping her hair back over her shoulders, as she scanned the beds, checking this and that, before assuring there was someone else there, before she went out to fill her stomach. A meal outdoors sounded much more satisfactory, then suffering anymore time in this medical induced haze. Shrugging on her jacket, fashionable enough to lose that 'staff' appearance, at nearly any given time. She was fairly new, so, being mistaken for a last year student? It never surprised her, infact brought forth that beautiful, musical laugh. Detouring into the hall was a quick endevour, which turned into something much longer as she was haulted to talk and chat with various people. With a wave of fingers that wore pretty nail polish, Jace made her way outside, a sandwich and orange in hand. There was also a mug of tea, smelling something delicious. Gingerbread. They made gingerbread tea? Oh yes, darling. Grabbing the lense off her eyes finally, she'd tuck them deeply into a pocket, as she crossed the grounds. Curiousity, and a friendly demeanour brought the youthful nurse across the ground, comfortable little flats making so little noise as she realized how chilly it was, and how she needed something more than a dress and jacket. Maybe a scarf, and a hat! She'd keep that in mind for next time. Approaching the group with such confidence, she'd raise a hand, to toss greeting the trios way with a pleasant hello and wishes of a good day. Pleasant, wasn't she? Now, don't go trying to look down her cleavage, or she might not be quite so pleasant!
11:17:12 Chase` had, in fact, moved off of her and was sitting about a foot from her, already looking around the spare banana he had dropped. The one he'd already taken a chunk out of was lying in the dirt nearby, clearly ruined. And when he reached out to retrieve the other her voice washed over him. He stopped in his tracks and looked back toward her, his knees bending to place his boots flat against the grass and he rested his elbows on his bent knees, looking over at her, "Well, well, well. That voice just sounds a little too familiar to me." He leaned his head forward to look at her face, his hair draped behind his head as he rested his chin on his shoulder, "Clever girl, I think." He grinned, wondering if she would remember his voice or not. Or, perhaps, if she looked full into his face, those warm chestnut eyes that always seemed to be laughing. How could one forget that? Not to mention his shaggy, loose black curls. He was pretty sure he was was the only guy sporting that particular combination. He couldn't help but chuckle softly during the pause, remembering the joke she'd cracked about him last night when he'd offered to dance with her.
11:19:07 [Ciercy] Chase did receive a node from Ci, but past that, she had already moved on. Already walked past the student she had been talking with and was going back inside. Upon her desk a stack of papers lay, and upon her table a stack of projects yet to finish. Where was she going instead? The pool. The one inside where she could pretend like she was doing something important? She should. No… the loch? No no, leave it to the students during these hours. Yes, it would have to be the pool. Perhaps it would be empty. Perhaps she would have the time to herself. Just… a little time to herself.
11:27:11 Mila noticed the nearby presence of a fairly new Nurse, who almost looked like a student. Her hand rose to return her greeting with a slight, “Hey.” Before she was distracted from the polite Healer by none other than the clumsy boy and his bananas. Now that he was being a bit of oddball, calling her clever all Jurassic Park like and talking with that smirk she wondered if he recognized her from the night before. Creative mask aside, Mila had not been hard to pick for few people had patience for hair so long as hers, and she wore it as unbound then as she did today. Tucking a few strands behind her pierced here, she narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. He did sound familiar. Only who had it been? Mila had danced with a number of boys, and even involved herself in a few cheery dances with girls! Conversations had been made with 'strangers' though they weren't particularly 'strange' for a girl who had attended since First Year and grown up alongside the majority of the students. She was already acquainted, barely with Chase for they shared a year and house, but other than a handful of words here and there over the years they hadn't properly spoken. “Did we dance last night?” Full lips formed a pouted frown, “Were you the boy in the red and black Jester mask?” Or, she thought, with a smattering of color rising prettily to her cheeks. Was he the boy that had daringly dipped and kissed her, only to dart away? No, he wasn't that boy. But Mila knew no better. Dumbfounded, she glanced between Jacinth and Chase and considered thousands of options, all save the one that painted him as the humorous, handsome boy who had disappeared before they could have that promised dance. Using comedy to shield her, she piped up with a grin. "You were the bunny! I'm sure of it." Venetian masks even came in rabbit form, and a few clowns had dared to wear them.
11:33:59 Jacinth Lifting the brows of her artistically carved face, Jacinth puffed her cheeks up for but a moment. Well, to be ignored by a student was one thing, but by a teacher? That made her shake her head. Jacinth might breathe a breath of new air when it came to the school, and one of the look of a student, but shouldn't the teachers be knowledgable in who tended to the students who missed their classes? Her name was the one on the bottom of the notes that said they were ill, and had spent time in the infirmary. Rolling pretty eyes, that was replaced once more with a sweet smile. Maybe her lunch would become a stroll, then her remembering she had food in her hand, and needing to shove that in her mouth! That would be a shame, for she hated looking like a pig. She was o for three. Make that one for three. Ruby lips put on a full smile, "Hello, sweetheart. Keeping warm?" Rather playfully, she'd cross one ankle over the other, and curtesied, minus the lifting of the hem of her skirt and jacket. Her hands were a too full for that. That was enough to lure her over though, and politely, "I do hope you two don't mind some company." She glanced towards Chase, lifting a slender brow. "It looks like you need to brownbag your lunch, hun." Very neatly, she lowered herself to sit on a hip, arranging things infront of her thighs. "I do hope neither of you mind my butting in." If they did, she could get up, and go on her way. Jacinth rathered become aquainted with those who had potential to come through her doors. It made caring for them easier, if she could address them by name, instead of 'you,' 'her,' 'him, 'them,' and so on, so forth. Sandwich triangle liberated from the square of napkin, both hands cradled it, as she nibbled. What were they going on about, oh...the Masquerade. She'd been much too busy to even think to attend. Trust her, she wanted to go. Oh, did she ever. She had even had the most beautiful dress and mask. Such a shame! She wouldn't push herself into their conversation, she had nothing to contribute to it. Not even a peep! Which was rather rare, for the chatty nurse.
11:49:32 Ryill slid through the water, twisting lazily beneath the surface where he could move un hindered by gravity or hard unforgiving earth. The gentle pressure of the cool liquid encasing him was like a lullaby, familiar and soothing. He didn't rush now, he wasn't swimming for any reason other than leisure. After the masquerade and a week full of prep he was glad for the break and the quiet. There was no silence like that you find underwater and he found that he craved it more and more often of late. Ryill hadn't come up for air in some time, it felt good not to and he planned to remain submerged until he lungs burned and threatened to burst.. that would be nearly an hour yet. All he wanted was the quiet coolness of the pool which was abandoned on this fine Sunday. No swim practice, no real work. He hadn't even turned the lights on down here. It was just peaceful.
11:52:05 Chase` laughed as she toyed with him about just who he was, and he buried his face in his hands in mock shame, "I can't believe, after all my hard work, that I'm just so non-descript!" He began to make wholly overdone crying sounds, but then Nurse Jace approached and he shifted his attention to her for the moment, "I don't mind, Nurse Jace. After all, I'm intruding myself. If I'd been paying attention to where I was walking I wouldn't have disturbed. . ." His gaze shifted to the girl with the long, dark hair and his warm eyes looked thoughtful for a moment, "Mila, isn't it?" If she confirmed this he'd look back to Jace, "Anyway, like I was saying, I'm disturbing Mila myself." He smiled down at the girl he'd spoken to briefly at the Masquerade last night, "Isn't that right? Or do you not mind being bothered by handsome strangers?" He figured she'd already figured it out, what with her quip about the bunny mask, but one could never have too many hints about a person's identity when it came to the annual Masque. He looked up at the nurse, "What about you, Nurse Jace? Did you have any fun at the Masque last night? Maybe hook up with Professor Blaze like just about every girl in this school wants to?" Oh yes. A cheeky little fucker.
11:56:46 [Ciercy] Ci pulled off the white shirt she had worn and let the shower head wash away the paint from her work. Her eyes watched from the little cube towards the door that lead to the place she wanted to be most. Already she could feel her body starting to change. With little care to her nude body, she wrapped in a towel only out of required habit as she walked from the shower to the pool. The towel tossed aside, Ci dove into the pool with little to no splash. Ci was unaware that she was not alone. Ryill, seeking the same thing she was perhaps. It was not until her body was within the embrace of the pool that she pulled up. The twist of a long tail displaced water as she pulled up and stopped herself. Without a word, even into his mind, the woman headed away from him to give Ryill his space, as she might have wanted him to do for her. Ci pulled herself up with her arms on the edge of the pool but did not yet get out of it. Below her, her body moved with a lazy flick as though she did not more want to leave than fly. The woman’s hair covered her chest, though she closed her eyes knowing she should have worn her uniform as required. Stupid thing…restricting and uncomfortable when all she wanted was to feel water as it was meant to be.
12:02:13 Mila felt a little bit like a child, and she can't say she was against the feeling of adult concern, even if she was a little old for it, and Jacinth a little too young to be so.. motherly. That's a nurse for ya. “I am.” Long sleeved, short scarlet dress wasn't the warmest but she had tights, cute little boots, and a scarf and beret in black. Warm enough. “Not at all.” Mila wasn't well acquainted with the Nurse, for she wasn't the type who fell ill often, nor was she the kind of student who was constantly injuring herself or being injured by others. She laughed at his play-acting, however overdone, and shook her head at the joking boy who then, proceeded to have a moment's falter at remembering her name. They'd only attended the same school, year and house, putting them beneath eachother's noses for... This was the sixth year, wasn't it? Typical, self-centered player. Her exotic features were not so easily forgotten nor was she quiet enough to be dubbed a loner, anti-social or a bore. The brunette had intended a retort at his folly, and parted her tempting lips only to halt mid-word and stare at him and realisation struck. So he was the boy! Her eyes fluttered shut as she recalled the masked young man who when asked if she would like to dance with a handsome stranger, she had jokingly played disappointed at not seeing one in presence. Before the two could actually dance, Mila had been called away by a friend and from that moment Chase was lost. “Chase!” She accused with a laugh. “I should have known, ugh!” Staring at the boy in earnest, her smoke eyes almost seemed to see through him as her expression grew serious and dazed. Her mind was assaulted by forethought, imagery invading her as it was accustomed to doing for often, the Seer wished to see nothing. A lost thought, one that was as useless a vision as the prediction of weather when one meant to remain indoors all she saw was from his own eyes, glancing down a page as he answered questions XII. On an AP Casting Exam. Curious, she peered forth into her mind's eye and tried to make out his answers, for y'know.. important use, but she saw not so much as a blur before she was brought back into her current time and day, and hearing something about 'in this school wants to'. Hm? Mila had missed most of it, but played as though she wasn't completely lost. So much for completing that Divination essay.
12:11:43 Jacinth Oh, someone who knew her name! It made her giggle, and smile vibrantly, hands clasping soon there after, over her mouth, as she flushed, her cheeks turning an apple red. "Oh, don't mind me, I just, I'm terribly excited to have someone who realizes I have a name, and uses it! You don't need the nurse part though, sweetheart." First name basis, with no formal titles, please. No Miss, no Nurse, no calling her by her last name, either. It made people more comfortable, she imagined. "Good, 'cause...colds are common, and flus are just as common." She couldn't help but to extend her concern. It was difficult not to worry about 'her' students. They weren't 'hers,' but it was her job to make sure they all stayed healthy, and bundling up was one of the first steps. "I do apologize, I'd just...oh, I don't want to see you guys getting sick." Says the woman who needed to slap on a scarf and a hat. If they stayed ontop of themselves, they'd be fine! "Ah, tsk, tsk. She must not mind it, or she'd surely have shooed you off now." She fit in so easily with students. Perhaps because she still had the mentality of one, having just graduated not long ago. Then, there was her work. Same woman, just much more professional. Quiet once more, busying herself with peeling the orange, and peeling apart the segments, she'd finish that off. She didn't want to interrupt. Hell, for all she knew, this was budding romance infront of her! No need to speak up in such a precious little moment. Oh, love...How nice it would be to find something so beautiful. She'd had no time in school, despite being avidly followed by those of male persausion. She wanted to get through school, and finish. She'd finished early, and hardly had the time to grow up. It was fine. She was happy, all was well. "Just Jace, hun, just Jace. No. I didn't get to attend. I wish I could have, I had everything I needed to go, and...well," She waved it off with a shake of her head, brunette locks resettling upon her shoulders, framing her soft face in another way. Then there was the joke, she laughed, of course she did, but then leaned over, a hand coming to cup her mouth, but she didn't whisper it in the least. It was loud enough for the both of them to hear, "Hun, he only wishes he could have hooked up with me." She batted long lashes, as she sat back. "Maybe if I had, had a date, I would have gone." She wasn't too intimidating to ask, was she? Psh, her, intimidating? Only if you weren't taking your medicine!
12:13:02 Ryill jerked, his eyes snapping open as a sleek form broke the stillness of the pools surface. He had nearly been dreaming, so lost in his own thoughts that he hadn't realized another had come until she was in the water. He felt her more than saw her as the gentle wave from her entrance washed against him coaxing him upward. The air felt harsh and dry when he surfaced, shocking him fully awake in a way that made him continue to hold his breath. Forcing a small lopsided smile, he shifted his brilliant blue stare towards his fellow mer. Ciery, he thought her name was though he had never formally introduced himself. He didn't spend much time with the teachers, his work had him out an about to often to sit in the lounge. She hadn't turned the lights on either and had quickly removed herself from his vicinity. That however didn't not save her from his scrutinizing gaze and he quickly came to the conclusion that she hadn't known he was here. His icy eyes suddenly brightening, glinting with mirth. "Not to be rude.” which of course he was being. "But I don't think that's school approved attire." He of course was perfectly decent, bare chested... the perks of being a man.
12:21:21 [Ciercy] ” Ah yes… well.” Ciercy looked over her shoulder at him, but kept herself facing the wall. ” I did not know anyone else was here.” Her strange accent, still hard to place, echoed a little in the big area. Any other time she would have been at ease with her nudity, but here among staff and students she was expected to follow the rules she herself helped put into place. Her body would lower once more into the water just enough to cover her head before she pulled back up and sighed. ” Ryill, yes?” She looked over her shoulder once more. She knew his name as he knew hers but… there you have it, the first face to face. Perhaps short lived though. She was looking at him almost like she was expecting him to turn and give her some kind of privacy, the towel she had warn in only an arm’s reach away. Poor thing, she did look pretty cherry faced even if she was trying to hide it with her air of importance.
12:29:26 Chase` couldn't help but give a faux cackle of mad glee as she figured out who he was, however her terribly frightening scowl when he stumbled over her name made him flinch. He was terrible with names! He'd been to see Jace often enough when he was younger to have fresh lashes cleaned and suchlike. That was the only realize he could remember her name without skipping a beat. But he'd caught sight of the expession on Mila's face and he tilted his head again, "Something wrong?" And at the nurse's comment about Professor Blaze he threw back his head and laughed, "Well you know I've heard a few girls gossiping about how hot he looks, Jace. You could have a cute professor crush." He grinned before looking down at Mila, "What's wrong? You didn't like that i was the guy who offered you your first dance at the Masque? You still owe me for that, by the way. I distracted myself with looking for you most of the night which meant I wasn't dancing with other girls." He looked directly at her, putting on a serious expession, eyes wide and he did the whole serious 'I'm watching you' pantomime where he pointed, with the index and middle fingers of his right hand, at his own eyes, and then turning them and pointing them at her eyes. He nodded a little, as if firmly saying 'Yup. No choice. You owe me brah.'
12:30:54 Ryill grinned at her, completely unabashed despite the clear request for for privacy in her eyes. He couldn't help it, she was nice to look at, sure but he just didn't seem to notice that it might be rude not to look away, Hell she was the one skinny dipping in the school pool. "Clearly." He chuckled eyeing her a moment longer from behind his water laden locks before mericully deciding to roll onto his back and gaze at the ceiling. Now he spoke at the roof, eyes fixed upward but his tone still casual, with barely restrained laughter. He was completely unphased by the situation. "Well it's a pleasure to finally meet you!" He declared flicking his silvery blue fins idly as he drifts politely keeping his eyes away from her. "enjoying your day off?"
12:43:28 [Ciercy] ” Does seem silly, all these rules about things that have no meaning.” She was more or less mumbling them to herself. Words about the body. Something everyone would face some day. In art, in life… it was just a thing. Something of beauty. Of desire. Of necessity. ” Yes…or I was.” Even she had to smile, looking over at dark room and shaking her head. ” Perhaps we can keep this to ourselves, no?” She didn’t want to get out of the water. ” I owing you something.” Whatever her accent was, it was interesting. Even as bubbled signalled she had gone under once more. Ci let her body sink down, pushing the air out as her body twisted up like a snake almost as if she itched. She did, her skin too dry for her own comfort. She looked up, seeing him drifting above her and let her eyes close before she moved through the water.
12:46:04 Mila found herself all the more pink-cheeked when Jacinth continued to treat her like a grandchild and prattled on about nicknamed, flu's and how she must like Chase's company. Embarrassing, much? Luckily the guy in question deflected the awkward turn of the conversation with discussions about their Physical Education teacher who, while handsome, seemed to have a pole larger than his biceps shoved far up his ass. Maybe if someone took that list of punishments from his hands, duct-taped that mouth of his and – lets not forget, tied back that evil, crooked finger, Professor Blaze would be quite the dreamboat. You know, for an older, forbidden Professor. “I'd rather attend the Masquerade without a date. Yule Ball is better for that.” The Yule Ball was a less extravagant event that occurred during the period when a good number of Hex's students, those who were gifted with the opportunity and allowance to leave, returned home for the holidays. It was a more intimate affair and without masks, it didn't make for good, anonymous flirtation anyway and was better spent on the arm of someone attractive and sweet. “Somehow Chase,” she grinned at his proclamation, “I think you're lying.” Responding in a pantomime of her own, she performed the common, index-finger-slitting-neck complete with an expression of death. Ha! As the Nurse had all but dwindled off to tend to some urgent business in the Infirmary, the brunette flopped down onto the grass, arms above her head and legs, mindful of her dress, closed. “Idon'twanttodothisessay.” It all came out in a whine, of a single word. Why didn't these awful Professor's teach them how to cast a complete, A Grade essay? “Screw it.” With that, she was up on her feet, tomes under one arm and using her free hand to tug Chase to a stand. He probably didn't budge unless he actually made to move, she was no Hercules after all. Her hand gripping his lead the way through the courtyard, down the stone stepped bank and down the pier. So she wanted a for good, anonymous flirtation anyway and was better spent on the arm of someone attractive and sweet.
12:59:32 Ryill smirks to himself grunting quietly in reply to her small request. He wasn't about to encourage her to leave, Sure he came down here for quiet but he wasn't one to turn away half naked female company. He licked his lips, tiliting his head slightly toward the space she had just occupied in time to see her slip under the water. His smirk lent itself to a smile and he arced backward, flipping his tail up to propelling him into the backwards dive. The pool was deep here... 20 ft, but still felt cramped to him and it took mere seconds for him to reach ciercy at the bottom. There was a playful grin as he dipped past her, purposely jostling her with a blue scaled hip before twisting away in a sudden burst of speed. Under the water he was little more then an pale flicker, his bright eyes matching his fins for brilliance as he swims backward away from her, gauding her to race.
13:01:17 Chase` waved to Jace as she got up and hurried away to her pressing business and his warm chestnut eyes return to Mila's exotic features. He listened to her speak and he overexaggerated a gasp, placing a hand over his heart as she accused him of lying, "How dare you! I've never lied in my life!" His overdramatization fell off his face as he looked thoughtful for a moment, "Well, maybe once or twice," his face took on the serious, hurt cast it had had before, "but not about this! I would never, ever lie about something like this!" He assumed a stiffly offended facade, but then it crumbled as his lips stretched in a smile, "But I happen to agree with you about the Yule Ball. Such a better date function. The Masque is all about the mystery. The anonymous flirting. The Yule Ball is a time when you can hold your significant other close, whisper soft, sweet nothings into their ear and-" he paused, mid sentence and a slight flush rose into his cheeks, "and make a fool of yourself while describing what you can do to a beautiful girl." But them Mila was getting up. She grabbed at his hand and tugged, and, taking the hint, he'd push himself up and would follow her gladly, his hand holding hers securely. He knew where they were going as they passed through the courtyard in the direction of the pier. He smiled, "Got an itch to be by the water while you procrastinate?" His voice was light and teasing.
13:10:59 Mila snickered at his words. In all her five, going on six years at Hex, this was the most she's ever spoken to Chase. Maybe it was the fact that he'd just tripped over her, or was it that the Masquerade ball last night gave her a little more confidence? Either way he'd come from being the curly-haired, skinny cootie-monger from 1st year, to a babe and a half even, if bullshit left his mouth in torrents. “Course I do, fool.” Spontaneity sometimes assaulted her. Maybe it was because the Seer had seen her death that she was urged to live life to the fullest and treasure certain moments at random. Either way she dropped the two tomes and the beginning of her Divination essay – that was on due on the morrow, mind you and. Well, it could be said that Mila lost her mind. She wasn't particularly tall, nor was there much muscular definition in her slim limbs but with the force of surprise on her side she extended her arms in a quick push and knocked Chase, clothes and all, into the frigid water. There was no ice, heavy winds, nor snow or rain falling but it wasn't warm weather at any chance. It was be a shock to the system. The girl didn't intend to prank him, but with cherubic laughter, she jumped into the water with all the 'grace' of a canonball. She did not remove her scarf, beret nor boots. The former two came off within the water and she would have screamed at the chill of the Loch, but her mouth was wisely shut. Beneath the clear blue, her iridescent smoke eyes opened to stare at him did he linger beyond the surface. Her hair fanned out all around her, impractically long and in the way and when she finally emerged for breath, she was no Mer, she did so with a great flick of her brunette mane. Already her full lip trembled and teeth chattered. “Christ it's cold!” What was that Jacinth was saying about keeping warm and not catching a flu? Smiling even though she'd lost all feeling of her nether parts, breasts, fingers and feet she took to a tread of the water and smiled innocently. In before he killed her.
13:12:23 [Ciercy] It was silly! Childish! She should have known better…really. She was a teacher. More than that even, a coordinator! Well, in the water that didn’t matter. Ci opened her eyes as something flicked at her and felt her body pulled into the suction of water displacement. The mer smiled, forgetting all of her responsibilities for that little moment and spinning her more golden color tail to settle in beside him. Her body bumped into him, pushing off of him as she went to roll and change direction in an attempt to get the upper hand before her twisted and attempted for corkscrew around him to head to the other side. It wasn’t until she had moved away that Ci realized just how bad this would be if someone did see them and she stopped. Drifting away from her fellow mer and reminding herself one more reason why she hated land rules. ” I should go. “ He would hear it in his head as she headed towards the surface and pulled herself from the pool. Wrapping the towel around herself.
13:33:39 Chase` followed her to the pier. In retrospect, it probably wasn't the best move he'd ever made. When Mila finished pulling him along he'd stop to admire the view of the Loch. His mouth opened to say something and then BOOM. She pushed him. His stance was relaxed and he was utterly unprepared for it. Thus, when he tipped, he flailed wildly, giving vent to a surprised "ARGH!" as he fell off the pier and landed in the water with a resounding CRASH. The water was shockingly cold when he was fully sumberged. Sure, it was a brisk sort of afternoon. A cold breeze. But the water had no right to be this cold. He lost a little bit of his perspective as he turned and pushed himself in the water, looking for the surface. His warm chestnut eyes looked and there were flurries of new bubbles and he saw Mila there in the water. He met her smoky eyes for a moment before he followed the bubbles that resulted from her jump into the cold water back up to the surface for breath. He broke the turbulent surface of the water spluttering and as he kicked his kegs, treading water. His right hand came up and pushed his black curls away from his face and he saw Mila surface and flick her long mane of brown hair, "Good God woman! So this was your evil plan all along? You just wanted to get me wet. Hoping maybe my shirt'll get all see through, huh?!" He grinned as he kept treading water.
13:42:30 Mila threw her head back in half-choked laughter, that annoying bit of water that always found itself in one's mouth and nose no matter how tightly shut they had kept said orifices. I like the word orifices shut up. “Maybe if you were better at getting me wet, I wouldn't have had to resorted to drastic measures like this.” It flew out of her mouth in a pretty clever little jest, but with horror, she realised how bawdy and skanky it sounded. Her cheeks flamed even in the cold. Inappropriate. Inappropriate. Barely spoken to him before and you just threw him in the water and spoke to him about getting 'wet'. A little bit ashamed and knowing her expressions for an open book, she ducked her beneath the water again and gave herself a moment or two to resume her composure. When she resurfaced, Mila changed turned the subject a little foolishly, “So what are you doing today? Study?” Well, Captain Obvious, what he was doing on this fine Sunday hangover was chilling in some frigidly cold water with a girl who's foot seemed to be lodged prettily in her mouth. Yep! Problem? Shouting to silence her thoughts, “I have a Divination essay!” It came out a little violently. Weird. Apparently she was a lot more seductive, smooth and funny when she had a mask to hide behind.
14:03:08 Chase` looked shocked, his eyes widening when he heard her words, "Oh my God I can't believe you just called me out like that!" He grinned widely when she ducked under the water to avoid him. He couldn't believe that she had just said it. Now she was in for it. Oh yes. This insult would not go unanswered. He shifted his center of balance and floated on his back while she was probably flaying herself for her remark. He moved subtly through the water to change his position. Now he was facing the pier that she had just tossed him off of and when she surfaced again her back would be toward it. He shifted his center once again and was treading water. He'd slowly, almost imperceptibly, began moving toward her. But after she was done speaking there was no mistaking the fact that he was getting closer. He grinned at her attempt to change the subject and her nearly violent outburst stating that she had a Divination essay to work on. His tongue ran over his back teeth as he attempted to make her move straight back through the water so he could, eventually trap her against the stone pier, "Eh. I'm just trying to ditch this small hangover. I got my Secret Santa envelope last night and I checked it this morning. I dunno what I'm going to get for my person. It's a tough buy, I'm thinking."
14:10:42 Mila couldn't believe it either, really she couldn't. It was one of those things that a teenage girl might stew over for hours even though the person centred around the mortifying embarrassment and drama would likely forget it within an hour. She noticed that he was cornering her against the wooden pier, and she had no intention of swimming beneath it for the water level was high and though she was somewhat adept at keeping herself afloat, she had a bit of a fear or getting stuck and the whole, being unable to breathe deal. Mila backed up her treading but kept the conversation on safer territory, “Oh yeah. Me too, I got this Fifth year lifer.” Lifer was a term Hex kids gave students that had been there since they were Freshmen and would stay until the final days of Sixth. “Don't know him well, I figure I'll get him like.. a bottle of JD or something.” Black Market made these 'gifts' things a little easier. Mila was for the moment oblivious that the envelope contained the name of the mystery guy who had all but danced, dipped, kissed and run the night before.
14:33:02 Chase` wasn't forgetting shit. Oh no. He backed her toward the wooden pier, to trap her against one of the submerged pillars. Good thing they were kept clean by the groundskeepers. Wouldn't want the freshman to cut themselves on anything sharp that might had attached itself to a pillar. He grinned, "Oh come on. That's no comparison. A girl is way harder to buy for than a guy. Girls like pretty things, but guys who buy things for girls tend to want to know their gifts will be more useful than to just be sparkly." If she allowed herself to be trapped against the pillar he would submerge his arms and reach out to grasp the greenish wood, one arm on either side of her to make sure she didn't slip away from him at the last second. He sank a little lower in the water, his black curls dripping into the water, "You know you missed a great opportunity last night. I'm an awesome dancer. And I bet you would have enjoyed my finishing move."He was very much not aware of the fact that someone else had stolen his move to use on this exotic beauty not even five minutes after she had disappeared from his side. His chestnut eyes had a twinkle in that that spoke volumes of mischief.
14:46:01 Shawn : Professor Kohen has returned! Where did he disappear to? A letter given to the head Master said that he was ‘Taking a sabbatical to find himself’. Whatever exactly that entailed. Some temp taught his classes in his absence. Being taught by someone else, however, meant that the kids would have actually been taught in a cohesive manner. Shawn, was a little on the insane side. The professor could be seen flying through the sky, towards the grounds of the campus. Time for the landing! It was less than graceful. He didn’t slow down enough which cause him to stumble as he got his legs together. Then. He stopped. There he was, in all his glory! Fingers ran through his hair and scratched the back of his head. “Ah! Home at last!” he looked around. This action would probably startling a few students who were outside studying. “Oh! Apologies, kiddos…” he shot them a smile and a thumbs up. Soon, he looked towards the main building. “Yo! Old Man Luthor! I’m home!” he shouted at the building as he moved towards the building. Of course, Luthor didn’t really hear him… nor would the Old Man rush out to greet him. It was more of Shawn being, who he was. As for attire, Shawn wore black jeans, leather shoes, and a white longsleeved shirt with a tie. The top button was undone, and his tie was a little loose. Yeah, this guy was trying to help shape the future of these kids. He looked like a bum got really lucky at Good Will. The man proceeded through the school, to where his Philosophy class should be. Shawn kicked the door open in the middle of lecture. “Oi! Thanks for keeping an eye on my class and all…” he said walking down towards where the sub was standing. ‘…. Kohen! You’re back! Well. I was told--’. A laugh from Shawn. “Things change, Bro” he said as he patted the man on his back. “Now. Before you leave. Where did you leave off?”. Students shifted around. Confused. ‘I… I was going to talk about Nietzsche’. Shawn nodded. “Good thing I got here! Did you talk about Kierkegaard? Or Heidegger?”. The man shook his head. “Well. Looks like you should have started with that first, eh?”. The man gathered his things and slowly moved out. With a laugh, Shawn stretched and looked at the class. “So! In case you didn’t know. I am your actual professor. I am Professor Kohen. In case you didn’t know, that makes me Jewish. My family immigrated to Israel after its creation… It’s a very strange story. Full of wonders. Buuuut I will not bore you!” he laughed and leaned on his podium, looking into the class. “From how I understand it, you had a sub-par replacement… who probably didn’t know a whole lot. That being said. You will still be using the assigned text for this class. I will let everyone out early today. That being said. You will read the portions of the book on both Kierkegaard and then Heidegger. Followed with analysis of both. It can be a sentence. I can be several pages. As long as your analysis is complete and whole… I don’t care”. The students looked around. Some at him. Then to eachother. Slight laugh. “That means you can go. Read the pages. Otherwise, I won’t be so nice”. The kids slowly gathered their things and left the class. “Feels good to be home” he said to himself as he strolled around the class.
14:47:38 Mila lost track of their conversation, something about girls and sparkling items, and she found herself wondering if he was talking about Twilight? Forgive her, but it was hard to concentrate when you were freezing your balls off, and a boy that looked like him, almost looked like he wanted to kiss you. Mile panicked. A smile that shielded her inner thoughts painted itself about her shivering lips and then she'd ducked beneath the surface once more. Bob and weave baby, bob and weave. So she did. Beneath the water, snaking around his side, swimming to a less invaded edge of the Pier and she was hauling herself up with a great deal of struggle and muttered curses. Her wet clothing weighed her down, and it wasn't the shortest climb when you were dripped wet. Somehow though, she pulled herself to the wet wood of the Pier and lay for a moment before climbing to her feet. “I... have to finish this essay.” Mila looked ridiculous. Absolutely soaked in a red dress, tights, ankle boots and forget about her missing beret and scarf. Instead she scooped up her tome and notebook, wetting them, and hurried off like the great big pansy she was berating herself for being. “Bye Chase!” Maybe the boy would stop her. Either way she was likely to see him later, they shared a House and a common room.
15:25:03 Ryill trailed back to the surface of the pool, his elation at getting to blow off some steam and just goof off dampened by the subdued and sober tone Ciecry’s message took in his mind. His head broke the surface with a spray of glistening droplets as he shook the water from his hair, and cocked his head toward Ciecry. “leaving already?” He banished the disappointment from his voice and swam to the pools edge where he could lever himself up out of the water onto his stomach, leaving his tail to dangle in the pool. His own towel was within reach but he didn’t move to grab it and instead propped his chin on one fist to watch the Aquatic’s teacher as she dried herself. “I suppose I have work to do anyway.” He conceded when he was sure she wasn’t getting back in. He flipped himself over smoothly to a sitting position, snatching up his towel to cover himself before allowing the change and climbing up onto two legs, with it wrapped securely around his waist. Now standing he offered her a hand to shake. “Jason Ryill… to formally make my own introduction.”
15:43:32 [Ciercy] There was a kind of remorse on her face. She didn’t like that she had stopped them, but…she had to. Ci knew herself. She knew her nature. If she let herself give into it, she could have stayed there all day and enjoyed herself with Ryill or any other Mer who found their company. Yet, she would not let herself. She was…supposed to set some kind of example, right? Lord, how old was she? In truth, not even thirty, but not too very far away from it. Still a few years ahead of Ryill. She stood as well, her own towel wrap tight around her torso and a hand there to keep it so. The other would extend to Ryill though, taking it and offering him a smile. ” Ciercy…” Just…Ciercy. Like Prince. ” Thank you..” She smiled a little brighter than the smile before but let it drop and nodded. ” I should….get dressed.” With that she would pull her hand away and head towards the dressing room.
