18:11:43 [Sydney] The bird flew - wings spread, feathers reaching heights that knew no bounds. It glorious as the Hawk spanned the night sky, the sunset having happened several hours ago but it was still before lights out. Sydney was feeling the freedom of the wind against her, her ruffled feathers bantering lightly in the gentle cool breeze as she swooped in, upward then down before rising once more toward the approaching night sky. There was much she could do in this position. Much she could do as she assailed through the skies, under the girdle that housed the school boundaries. She wanted to see higher, but touching the boundaries would send a shock through her system and that, by all accounts what she wanted to avoid. The kaleidoscope of stars shone in myriad of lights as she spun, feeling freedom at her fingertips as she glided upon the air. She didn’t catch the group of males down below who were watching the hawk, or how they had catapults at the ready. She was to enraptured in the moments delight as she circled, coming lower to take a dive into the Loch, sail across the ice then back up again when THUD something hit her and hit her hard. It bent her wing back, as the tiny bones within cracked. She felt pain searing through her as she tried to gather her height but couldn’t her small frame riding over the courtyard when yet another THUMP evaded her feathered frame. Both wings were caught as she began to spiral down. Loosing control as the ground neared the moment of impact, her body however changing due process. The near naked form of Syd, save the panties and bra that were an official standard to the Shifters and Weres of Hex institute, hit the brick of the wall with a thud as he landed. Her body rolled, then onto the snow, coursing downwards toward the embankment of the field, until she came to lay still. Hair splayed under the moonlight, both arms broken among other variable bones within. Her face was dotted with with cuts, splices and scratches, as was the rest of her frame. Far from small, Sydney was one to take good care of her form, and yet in this position she appeared so weak, hustled up into a fetal moment that left her crying out in pain. “Help.. Someone Help.. Me.. .. Please..” She sputtered. The boys had since ran away after seeing what had happened, not realizing the Hawk had indeed been a shifter. None of them wanted lashes. She was left alone. Unsure if anyone had seen her fall. If anyone knew to help her. Knew to find her.. in the cold cold snow that surrounded her. She felt her life slowly slipping into unconsciousness.
18:19:45 [Calyope] She'd had a wonderful evening wondering the grounds. dark caramel eyes were watching the darkening skies as she hummed. There was rarely atime the half Siren girl didn't have a song on her lips. She was singing as she moved through the snow. Mary Mary quite contrary, We're so bored until we're buried. And just like dust we settle in this town. On this broken merry go 'round... Merry go 'round... Jack and Jill went up the hill, Jack burned out on booze and pills, And Mary had a little lamb, Mary just don't give a damn no more. the strange little american country song had been stuck in her head for a while. It helped her get it unstuck by singing. She watched the skies as something struck the soaring Hawk. CAlyope wasn't the best at emergencies, or animals, or healing, but she could always help the bird to someone else, right? She took off at a run toward where she thought the hawk had fell and ssaw the mangled, underwear clad woman lying there and her immediate response was a loud scream. Quick, someone help. there's a girl here, hurt pretty bad." the half-siren could be incredibly loud when she needed too, and this was one time she figured it necessary. she moved to the fallen lady's side and hit her knees in a hurry. Calyope would immediately slip off her coat to wrap it around the woman. She was unsure if Sydney had lost consciousness yet or not, but she talked to her. Hoping for the best. "Hey, hey, lassie." She spoke softly to the woman. "Come on, love. Talk to me. please?" The air of panic in her voice was evident. <i> Oh goodness I'm not made for emergencies.
18:38:57 James` was out for his nightly run before lights out time at Hex Institute, as he always said a healthy body breeds a healthy mind which breeds healthy ether which breeds an awesome mage. Even in winter, he still kept up his regular exercise; to be honest he preferred the cold to the heat. Fresh breaths of air were pushed out in a small cloud of mist as he continued along. His thoughts had gone from his patient the other day at the gauntlet, Demarco, cranial damage, skull fracture, he hadn’t heard back from Demarco so he assumed the headache was bearable or he just couldn’t move from bed just yet. James couldn’t help but stifle a chuckle as he ran, the thought of someone fucking it up that bad was like watching dumbest accidents on youtube for him. Not that he didn’t take his job seriously, he did, but the challenge of healing is assessing the injury, even if he might find it amusing at times. His thoughts shifted over to the dance as he picked up the pace, he was still without a date to the dance, “I need to get my shit together and ask a girl to the dance.” Glancing up ahead he saw a young women calling for help, “What the...” Now at walking pace he glanced move near, his eyes widened in shock as he saw the crippled form of a young women, multiple injuries, the first that stood out was both arms broken, cut to the head, scratches from impact are mostly left side, perhaps more injuries on torso or back suggesting an impact of sorts. James bit his lip to stifle a chuckle, his mind skipped to dumbest accidents on youtube again. Glancing up he saw nowhere she could have fallen looking to the girl beside her he paused for a moment, “Hey my name is James I’m here to help, can you tell me what happened?” His expression now serious and his voice soothing he was assessing the injuries, even with the other student here to assist him it would be too dangerous and painful to try and move her, he would have to fix her here, looking down to the injured young women his eyes set on her, focused, “Can you tell me your name?” James focused and began to gather his ether, making movements with his hands he stood up and cast a spell his arms widening to draw a circle around her form, a white glow emitting from his hands as a small white dome was created around her. The warmth of the dome would be felt right away as knelt again beside her focus further looking up to the other girl, “What’s your name? Listen I’m going to need you to comfort her and keep her from moving as I do my thing here.” He immediately realized how bad that sounded, “If she moves she gets further injuries, patients in shock tend to move as soon as I heal a limb they can use.”
18:49:32 Sydney could hear a woman’s voice but it seemed so far away. It was illusive yet beautiful, like a church choir of boys that sung an angel’s song, harmony enrapt and delightful. She longed to reach to the sound but she couldn’t move. In her mind, she felt her body but her legs were numb, there was no sensation in her lower exterminates and her arms were both broken. The pain was excruciating in some areas, and it was a testament to her inner strength that she hadn’t lost complete consciousness yet. Sea-green hues with pupils dilated peered out into the darkness, while another figure approached. This time someone larger, the voice deeper. Though she could see it was in blurs, lacking contrast as her lips parted in a near smile, trying to get the edge of some joke out of her lips, but failing miserably to do so. “Am I dead..?” She questioned, her voice hoarse as blood slowly trickled from the corner of her mouth, smoothing over the soft caress of her skin toward the snow. Her mahogany strands splayed in directions around her head like a dark halo, rapidly moistening due to the snow she lay upon, and yet despite the cold, she felt little chill as light around her emitted heat. warmth.. It was beautiful in it’s own right, like the voice of the woman who knelt beside her. “I can’t.. feel..” she tried to speak, the gasped as a ricochet of pain darted through her, her body heaving then relaxing as she desperately sought a more comfortable position, but broken bones and a torn body wouldn’t leave much in it’s wake, save the pain that burned through her internally. Someone was asking her name. A voice - the deep voice and her eyes in their infinite glory peered toward James, though she could barely see his features - she felt he was an Angel, glowing in white, defining the moment there with her. “S.. Syd… Syndey..” She spoke, as shock wore in, her body ricocheted in shakes, something she couldn’t control on her own. “So.. Sorr… y. .. “ She resonated through her voice. Not wanting to be a problem, she always thought she could stand her own issues, deal with her own pain, but this was crucifying on a number of levels and the proud femme had to depend on others to help her through it.
18:56:04 [Calyope] "I saw a hawk get hit by something a couple of times and came to see if it was alright. I find her laying here, broken, bleeding and nearly in the buff, so I threw my coat over her. I know you need her still if you are going to heal her. It's far too dangerous to move the girl" She was jabbering quickly. to get the sotry out. "I'm Calyope." It was true, her voice, even when just speaking, was soft and melodic. She ran a hand over Sydney's hair and sat by her head while she watched James do his thing. "Hi Sydney, i'm Caly. And no, sweet girl, you aren't dead, just broken. Very very broken." Caramel eyes had tears in the corner. As sarcastic and shapred tongue as Calyope could be, seeing anyone hurt like this was senseless. She just hummed, softly. Something old and soothing from her family's home land. Calyswallowed hard and let her ocher hues bounce between the two. 'Will she be alright?" She'd shiver at the cold, but that was fine. the adrenaline pumping through her, The fear, the worry. She pushed it aside to keep that calming song going. it was what she could do. her song could entice and calm, agitateand relax. she needed it to calm and relax Sydney, that poor girl. Granted, later, when Caly was alone, she'd have a complete and utter panic attack over this.
19:02:54 [Lilia`] The lull of a the loch's sweet lullaby never failed to lure her to the safety of sanctuary, even when frost calmed the glass surface to a quiet. A place where the bars of imprisonment did not sear, a place where momentary peace could be found from the inevitable resulting chaos and dramatics when a large number of hormonal teenagers were forced to live with one another. With the coming Yule ball, the madness at the Institute had only heightened. Even lacking a boys desired request for her company, there was no denying that Lilia was excited. Alone and with only the silence of the darkened night to guide her, a soft smile lit her delicate features. Her direction was undecided, the desire to sit by the lake waning with the iced over surface offering little distraction and so she wandered senselessly until a call of hysteria piqued her attention. Emergency and pain had her sprinting for the scene of the wounded, arriving out of breath and looking both befuddled and worrisome when she'd come to join James and Calyope. The three were clustered around Sydney. These faces were familiar to her, their names remembered and hoarded in picture perfect memory, but they were not friends. Only a few in this place had earned trust and the title that accompanied. The Londoner was a fair lass, one with selfless qualities and only wishing to offer her aid. But what could she do? Seeking to calm Sydney she shushed her softly and reassured her in the most soothing of tones. “Shh, it's alright. We can help you.” Can they? Did they need to lunge into action and secure the help of the nurse staff? Would they carry her to the infirmary? Oceanic eyes sought the faces of James and Caly as she knelt beside their impromptu patient. Lady Luck smiled upon them in the face of the boy being a well placed healer and breathing a sigh of relief and inwardly praying that he wouldn't come across any errors in his spell, the flaxen haired Lulu nodded reassuringly. Keeping her still was simple, no? As James asked of their names she waited for Caly's introduction and then replied, “Lilia.”
19:18:41 James` continued to assess the situation, it was hard to make a move healing with multiple injuries, even the most obvious injuries like two broken arms may not be the most urgent. Grabbing the coat he took it off her to examine her torso, his eyes glancing up as another approached, it wasn’t good to crowd the scene of an accident or huddle around the victim, could cause the patient to panic and cause themselves injury. Looking back down he saw a trickle of blood come from her mouth, “Fuck me.” He grumbled, she was bleeding internally, what a pain in the ass, “James.” His eye did not move from Sydney, he finally got her name and that of the other girls with him. For the moment he let Calyope speak with her whilst he focused, Calyope’s voice was indeed soft and relaxing and in fact it helped get him in the zone and keep him focused, “Yes...she will be fine as long as you keep singing.” The singing was meant to aid him as well, “Lilia, I’m going to need you to keep a look out for me as well in case more people more people come, I’ll need you both to help me move her when I’m done. Lilia if I something happens and my ether doesn’t work I’ll need you to fetch the doctor and nursing staff, I’ll give you the word. Keep talking to her Calyope, she needs your voice.” Placing his hands out over Sydney’s face he focused as a white glow shone out, his hands moving down towards her toes but not touching her body, just hovering from above, coming to her torso he paused, “I think I’ve found the damage, two cracked ribs, one has stabbed into some of her tissue and caused a rupture.” Focusing on that injury first he considered what he could do, “Ok, if I use reverse weaving I can set the ribs in place and then focus on the rupture.” His eyes glanced up to Calyope and Sydney, “I need to be completely focused here ladies, Calyope, I need you to sing, Lilia, comfort Sydney, I’m going to reset her ribs. Since it’s not an open wound I need to feel it out, one false move and I could puncture her lung and she chokes on her own blood.” That should put the fear of god into them both, it certainly did do it to him, but he enjoyed it. Holding left hand where the broken ribs were he closed his eyes, the white ether cause a pure light down on her as his right hand moved to the same spot, ether threats began to sprout from his finger tips, “This may feel uncomfortable or painful Sydney.” The threads would pierce into her torso slowly making their way down to her ribs as he began to slowly and careful reverse weave the bones. 19:25:37 [Sydney] The song certainly helped the brunette femme as she laid where she was. It was soothing and lethargic, giving her a sense of numbness to her body as if carried up on a breeze like a leaf and flown toward the nearest stream, only to be carried further. She was light in her position, the pain there but she was sailing past it. Still not unconscious as anyone in their right mind would be, she was alert in some ways, ready to feel the moment, ready to know just what was going on as much as she sailed away. “Help.. Me..” She spoke, not a question by the intonation but words given to the Healer who was present at her side. His face wasn’t clear, but that same angelic light bore down around her eyes, giving her a sight that she felt deep within her heart, one of sincere trust, beholding and wanton in the appraisal of her hues. Another voice cajoled her, pulling her from her reverie -- a female voice that was soft in kindness, gentle as was the Siren’s but without the melodic pull. It was still enough to ensure the girl wasn’t alone in this moment. That should she die now, there would be others around her, but few she knew. She might have recognized James if she could see him, being he was the first aid attendant on the Arcadia team. Being an forward and Durusball Star, she was familiar with all those on the teams, making it a habit to know of at least, each and every one. But it wasn’t in her eyes this night. Not the now as she gazed openly toward the ceiling of stars that gazed back down, a single tear scurrying from her left eye, slipping down over her flesh. There was so much she hadn’t done yet. So much she hadn’t tried. Hadn’t experienced. Life had been taken for granted until this point, where now she felt she lay in the balance. Angels surrounded her and she was in a grasp of heaven. She could go forward, or be held back, but either way she knew that she’d missed out of many things. Being so focused on the game had left her missing out invariably in parts of her life. As well balanced as she thought it had been it truly wasn’t. All the people she’d pushed away in order to win a game. To practise and become better. “All my…. Fault..” she urged through her hoarse voice, then suddenly gasped as James told spoke, his actions already in display as she felt her innards being literally churned. Her back rose from the snow, her body arching despite the broken bones while tears trickled down from her eyes again, lids closing as long lashes rested upon those smooth cheeks. Her breathing quickened, her heart rate increased as she merely wanted the pain to stop. But at the same time, the pain meant something was being done. Like the trooper she was, she tried not to complain though it was difficult all the same as her bones were being reset, her body re-worked. It was easy to see she had strength in her, and a power to her character from what she withstood - Sydney was a fighter and wasn’t ready to go so easily.
19:27:49 [Calyope] She'd clear her throat and dig deep. She'd need to focus. A calming song. She thought long and hard, nodding at the words James told her and offering a quick, kind smile to Lilia. she looked at Sydney and pondered the song to sing. Softly her voice rose. The snow inspiring her with a classic. "Ave Maria Gratia plena Maria Gratia plena Maria Gratia plena Ave, ave dominus Dominus tecum Benedicta tu in mulieribus Et benedictus Et benedictus fructus ventris Ventris tui Jesus Ave Maria Ave Maria Mater dei Ora pro nobis pecatoribus Ora, ora pro nobis Ora ora pro nobis pecatoribus Nunc et in hora mortis In hora mortis, mortis nostrae In hora mortis nostrae Ave Maria!" She'd slipped into a Latin song and kept it going as she kept one hand on Syd's hair. She continually kept storking the femme's hair. Her song steady, caramel eyes focused on Syd's face. She was almost terrified to lift her eyes. Never had she been so needed to keep people calm. it was a terrifying thought that they entrusted this much to her. She'd slow and think and slip back into the song. Her next set of words, still in song posed a question. "IS there another song, I should sing. Or should I just continue humming whatever."
19:47:42 [Lilia`] She forced a calm, reassuring expression both to settle James and the wounded girl, in fear of her mind being somewhat lucid. If it was, she had just been delivered rather unsettling news about her injuries and it could only make her panic and quake with fear. Quite like the panic that rocked Lilia, in truth. Playing the assistant, the doe-eyed femme nodded with serene assertiveness and. “Alright Doc.” Calyope's siren song aided in easing them all, allowing for concentration and much needed calm in the possibility of death. Even so, Lilia couldn't keep from cringing once James had delivered the verdict. Again nodding, the angelic mage slipped one of Sydney's less mangled hands into the most gentle of holds between her own. “Shh. You're going to be fine.” Always speaking at the softest of whispered lulls, she aimed to distract in case lucidity assaulted once Caly had finished her song. “You'll be fine, I know you will. I've seen you play before, and a little scrape like this is nothing. Absolutely nothing.” All the while her eyes had been scanning the vicinity for faces, keeping watch just as she was instructed to do. Lilia was poised to bolt up and sprint if James failed, knowing entirely well that Sydney's chances were slim and their time was limited. “Shh, you're okay now. We wont let anything happen to you, okay?” Taking control she instructed the siren. “Just hum, it helps.”
20:06:05 James` focused on the bones as he felt the reverse weaving taking effect, on the outside it would look strange to anyone who might see him, his eyes closed and his right hand fingers moving about like he was stringing a puppet. In his mind, he could see a clear vision on the internal damage and the bones he was weaving. His left hand spell had allowed him to see when his eyes could not, he felt himself slip away to the melody of Calyope’s singing, and there was no other noise but her voice, no other vision but Sydney’s wounds. He fell far away and it was as if his fingers had a life of their own. In time the bone was whole again and he moved onto the next rib bone, beginning to weave but as Calyope singing ceased he came back to reality, his focus now an effort again, “Just keep singing, I don’t care what you sing or if it’s the same thing over and over, it helps the patient and myself greatly.” It was good to have the ladies here, doing this alone would have been a lot harder, the comfort of Lilia’s presence was felt, even though he had not met her or Calyope before he felt he could rely on them. Having Lilia being his eyes outside of his work was more useful then he could say. He continued to reverse weave until the next rib bone was whole again. Once it was the threads would retract from Sydney’s ribcage and disappear. Using his right hand now to softly hover above the ribs, he used a healing light spell to set the ribs and mend them in place. The white glow was like a soft circle the glowed around his palm, it would take only a moment before he had mended the ribs. He could not stop however, he focused the same light on the rupture, which would take more of his ether and more strain, but the effect would be much swifter then reverse weaving. After a moment he would open his eyes, “It’s done, she should be able to breathe a lot more easily now.” A lot of the pain would simply be aches from the ribs, which would fade in time, “I’m moving onto the head injury.” Looking the side of her head, he saw a nasty gash, nothing too serious, it was a minor wound, taking his left hand away he would focus both hands on her head wound and begin to heal it, the light now a bigger circle around his palms as the wound healed. His eyes focused as he finished that, “Now the arms...” He would once again need reverse weaving, taking in a deep breath he focused, repeating what he had down with the ribs, his hands were in position and the threads had returned, “You will feel uncomfortable again, Sydney.” The threads pierced into her right arm as he began his work once again, mending and weaving the bone back into a whole. (e)
20:20:40 [Sydney] There was so much going on around her. Light, humming, songs, words - voices and faces. It was a multitude of ridicule in some ways as she couldn’t part take in any of it and yet, was the very center of it all. Ministrations of her form felt the pain subside as the good Healer took away her pain, melding what needed to be melded, fixing what had to be fixed. It hurt, but it felt good in a way that one can only sacrifice to feel the pain. It was all sufficient because she felt herself pulled from the rim, within the outer edge she’d lain and yet now, she was being drawn into the direction of the light. The golden glow of light that filtered through her sight. “Thank…. Y.. y.. you..” She managed to escape from chattering lips, words that bespoke of her gratitude. It was still unclear what had completely happened, but the moment now was she was being fixed. Being put back together in a number of weaves and enchantments and thanks was due to the male healer that held her body in his control. It was also due to the two females who were at her side. She couldn’t tell who they were - neither played Durusball - she didn’t know those who weren’t apart of the game. She’d never given time to them before. She wasn’t a snob - far from it, but she just didn’t connect with others who didn’t see her love of sports and competition. Now though her life was changing. This event was monumental in how she went about things. Her body rose and feel, writhed on the snow before James as his healing hands murmured in their soft and gentle guise. She felt a connection to the man. A life connection as he saved her, drawn into the male who was now fixing her broken soul, mending her broken body. Her form was in all ways crooked, but slowly it was coming back to the shape she beheld, the time and energy she’d put into her form was rapidly becoming seen as twisted bones were straightened and muscle tone began to seep through. She was in all ways coming into her own, hands wanting to reach out to those around her but still unable to as she felt the bones settle. Her breathing became more limited, more constructive and more light as if a heavy weight had lain from her chest. “What’s…. you..’.. name”? She would question the angelic healer, sea-green hues wandering his way, landing upon the figure that was before her. The figure slowly coming into sight, less blurry as time went on.
20:28:20 [Calyope] The song changed. Something pulled her from the humming into a completely different song. Her voice roseand she sang out. Her hand never leaving the soft hair of Sydney. sureshe didn't play Durusball, nor did she really socialize, but she was going to change that. She left her hand on her hair and let her voice carry. 'Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle! Tramontate, stelle! All'alba vincerò! vincerò, vincerò! " her Soprano voice filled the song in a lovely manner and she held the notes on the end, turning them into a sultry, unintentional, aria. She felt she needed to hold this particular song. she let her eyes look from james to Lilia and back to Syd. james had to heal her. It would be a travesty if this lovely creature, whether bird or human, was not able to be healed. She chewed on her bottom lip and just hummed through the song again.
20:43:54 [Lilia`] Acting as witness, nurse and altogether untrained, unlikely nurse the mage remained knelt in the snow during the unexpected and unlikely turn of her evening. Lights out beckoned closer but there was time to be had, and with a girl precariously close to demise they had true, and legitimate excuses for ignoring the timeless rule if they dallied. A sigh of relief passed through Lilia's lush lips at the healers positive verdict. Oceanic eyes had followed each move with impressionable admiration. He was skilled with his craft and as a fellow mage, she could respect that. Seeking to soothe with helpful abandon, Lilia reached inwardly for her own ether, pulling and grasping with a musical sigh and glowing glaze to her enchanting eyes. The hand that kept Sydney's captive felt for James' power as his magic ebbed and wove, encouraging her in the same manner that Calyope's beauteous voice did. It only encouraged Lilia, and then she was lifting her free hand into the cool night air, fingers slowly curling inward as she gripped the moisture in the air. A simple trick for the fifth year, applied with a gentle brush of her fingertips across her classmate's aching forehead as a nurse might, in a more manual manner. Then she was whispering a simple “Thank God.” And her lucky stars, that Sydney was safe. Calyope and James were dually responsible, Lilia had only been a useless attendant. As the slowly healing girl did not ask for her name, one did not leave her lips.
21:00:05 James` let Calyope’s musical voice take him away, letting everything fade once more he only heard her, felt her voice touching his mind. Weaving still, he made her arm whole again, using the same spell to mend the bone into place. Without a word, he moved to her other arm repeating the process and emptying his mind all the same, this is where the true passion and genius came out. It would take a little time but soon her other arm would be mended the same. Coming out of his almost trance like state, he looked to Calyope and Lilia, “Thank you, without both of you I would have had a much harder time of this, you two are both as responsible for saving her life as I am.” James placed his hands above Sydney’s face as the white glow cast down upon her once more, moving his hands down he did a final scan and check, everything was stable and would grow in strength again with time. He looked down to Sydney and smile, “You’ll make a full recovery, I’m just going to help those cuts and bruises heal and then all you need to do is rest. My name is James, I’m glad you’re ok Sydney.” Moving his hands around to the cuts and bruises the white circle appeared around his hands as he fixed the nicks and knacks, “You should be ok to stand with some help.” He looked to Calyope and Lilia, “Ladies if you could help her up I’d appreciate it.” James sat back and relaxed for a moment, the dome now fading and his ether somewhat drained, “Sydney this is Calyope, she found you and sang for you, the other lady is Lilia, she assisted me and made sure you were still and relaxed so I could heal you. They are both responsible for your safety.” Slowly he’d move to stand, “A bit more than I expected on a my evening jog.” James set his green hues on Sydney, “Make sure you rest for a couple of days, no sport or...whatever it was that caused this injury, just relax and let your body become strong again.”
21:12:05 [Sydney] Slowly.... she was slowly becoming together. Pieces brought together again. Rather than apart. Her arm fixed, then the other as she felt rapidly whole as if the separation had never existed. It hurt. Gods did it hurt, but it was a pain worth waiting for. One that slithered through her body, drove to her very core as she’d allow it to assuage her senses. His actions had fixed her. But her together again without just Band-Aids, but with true actually emotions and actions. True ether like strength that had guided her back from the precipice of light. Eyes were moist in their recognition as she slowly began to move, the first efforts of which were stiff and hard. It wasn’t an easy motion as her un-blurred vision now settled upon the two girls at her side. “Thank you..” She mumbled, her tone not quite her own, the whispers hoarse as if her throat was a dry as a desert. “Both of you. For your strength, Lilia and for your song, Calyope.” She wanted to offer more to them both, but seemed stuck in how to actually show her emotions. Far be it a Durusballer cry. They were not known for their emotions. They toughed things out. Made the moment real, faced the hardships every time they were on the field. Her attention then turned back to James as she offered him a weak smile, her body moving as she actually tried to stand. Like a babe on two feet just learning to walk, she struggled, her hand reaching to his as she gripped hold of it in the moment, though she had used so much of his strength already, she quickly let go. “Rest? I cannot rest.. I have so much to do..” And indeed she did. She needed to get Brice his gift for the Secret Santa, she had to get ready for Durusball in the spring. She had.. .. She had the ball to go to,.. Though she’d not seen Kryan in a few days now. The male had been avoiding her since he’d asked. What was that all about? “ Things that were upon a girl’s mind would never fully be understood by the opposite sex, no matter how hard they tried. “Just let me be now.. I’m.. “ she was about to say good, when her legs near gave way, her body shuddering again with the effect of pain running through her. “I can’t be this way.. I can’t be out of play..” What hurt the most was the fact she couldn’t practise. Couldn’t run, work out.. She couldn’t do her usual things. She would be stuck laying somewhere and it terms that debilitated her far more than injury.
21:21:09 [Calyope] She had offered a warm smile as Syd thanked her. "It's a given gift of songa nd calming. Perks of being a Siren." She laughed and moved with grace and ease and slipped her arm around the other woman to support her, when she saw her fall over a bit. 'You may have a lot to do, my dear. but you need to rest first. James nearly exhausted himself healing you, love. you can't keep going. You need to rest. Don't make me sing you into a mini coma, Sydney" Her voice was soft and edging toward the sedcution of the sirens call. she was not below using her gifts to make someone rest. She , in all honesty, had forgotten about the Ball. "What is so important that you can't rest a day or two?" She offered a smile to Lilia. "Water mage? Right? You did great hydrating her forehead and James. Watching you heal was breath taking. I'm actually a bit envious about not being good at healing at all. I fail at putting bandaids on things." She smiledand kept her arm around Sydney. "Come now, peaches. Time to go lay 'Down for a while." She offered a smile. "And you are going, whether you want to or not." Ahh, there was an ultimatum at the end.
21:28:47 [Lilia`] A modest, disbelieving smile rose to the surface when both James and Sydney thanked her for the supposed help she had offered. “It's.. okay.” She was happy to come to the aid of a damsel in distress, even if there was little she could offer. Water couldn't set a broken bone, it couldn't weave flesh over abrasions. It could only cool, hydrate, move and drown. Biting her lip she played the silent keeper until James continued his methodical examination and ether surgery, calling on her once again for assistance. Charming and abiding, the smiling girl accepted the duty. “Ayeaye Captain.” Blushing prettily at the complimenting thanks from Calyope and himself again, Lilia bit her lush lip and turned her gaze. “Yeah, Water. Really, I did nothing.” Shifting her attention to the delirious and temporary invalid, “Lets get you up.” Ending her entwining grip and nearness, the mage took to her feet once more. Petite and almost ethereal in femininity, and lacking in athletic strength and practise she glanced first to Sydney and then the girl who would also helping carrying. Carefully slipping an arm around her classmate's waist she heaved and attempted to lift her dead weight. Smaller, and unaccustomed to the strain it was a visible struggle but with the others, Lilia could manage even if her breaths came heavier. “No sweat!” The chirp was in a higher pitch, but she masked discomfort with a smile, and nearly toppled when Sydney's legs threatened to give way. “Oh!”
21:43:08 James` watched as she struggled to stand, he’d catch her hand if only briefly as she then let go, he’d return her weak smile with one of his own. His green hues moved to rest on Calyope, “Yeah I’m a bit puffed myself.” He gave a grin, “You know where to find me if you struggle.” He glanced to Lilia, “A modest mage, there’s the real miracle, I’m looking forward to seeing your ether at work, Lilia.” At the mention of things to do, he simply shrugged, “You know you should rest but I won’t force it. Oh shit the ball.” He had been working at the Gauntlet so much lately that he had forgotten about the ball, “Are you three go to the ball?” He still did not have a date to the ball and he knew Jake would give him shit if he went without a date, “We should get you back to the dorms for a good night’s rest, ladies would you be able to escort her, it might seem devious if I did this late in the evening.” Besides he wanted to finish his jog, although now it would be a shorter job then originally intended. James took in a breath and moved to walk off, “Good evening ladies, I’m house Arcadia if you need to find me or if anything changes.” With a small trot and then break into a jog he began to run again, “Should have asked...” He found his feet slowing down as he came to a stop looking back to them, “Whatever...” Turning around he jogged back to them, “Look I know this is going to sound dumb and generally embarrassing as I’m sure you all have dates, but if any of you ladies find yourself without a date or still in wanting I’d be happy to accompany you to the ball.” His tone was honest and to the point, it took courage to speak out like that and well, he was a frank kind of guy. (e)
21:54:02 Sydney was helped up as best she could, using the strength within her to complete her healing. Though the mage was ready to make off and leave the girl’s behind. It struck her strange that one so caring would just up and leave, giving it to the others who were of neither healer or faculty to bring her to the infirmary. Her eyes shifted slightly and were it not for the cold (Considering she was still in just a lycra bra and panties), she have tried the leave the moment she was healed. The fact he returned just to ask them to the ball perturbed her even further. She had almost died. Been on death’s edge. He may have saved her. May have used his magic, but he was quick to do a way with her when the time came. Instead of seeing her safely to the infirmary, he was more concerned about his jog. More concerned about the ball than to readily ensure his patient would be transfixed where she aught to be. In some ways it maddened the shifter, for she knew no matter what she deserved better than that. Even if she was going to the ball with Kyran and the Captain of the Tritus team had not shown up since that day, she would rather go alone that nestle upon the fact that the healer mage had asked them. No - this wasn’t the say Syndey thought anyone should be asked to the ball. Her life on the line, her body near naked, two girls - complete strangers holding her up, their own forms struggling with her.. “Just let me go. I can make it to the infirmary myself.” She mustered up as an answer. Not looking to any of them in that moment. Let them make their choices. Sydney had places to get to. And the infirmary wasn’t going to be one. She could avoid it now at all costs, thanks to James. He was so quick to run of and leave at the end of things, she felt his bed side manner could do with working on.
22:01:30 [Calyope] She shook her head. "There is no way on earth nor heaven I'd let you go alone, Sydney. i saw you fall from the sky in your Hawk form. i couldn't in good conscience just let you go. " She turned the charm on a little more. 'PLease Sydney, Let me walk you to the infirmary or heck, your dorm." She heard the boys offer. and forwned. "How about you not run off from your patient, instead of, ya know, asking us all three out. As for your information i didn't know there was a ball, however, if there is, i will probably take one of my house mates." she huffed, half irritated by the man. She looked to Lilia and then back to Sydney. 'now, come on, Peaches. I'm sure you'd feel better if you slept it off. please?" Her last word was thick with her song, those carmel eyes locked on the lovely bruntte's eyes. 'Sydney, you know you want to."
22:11:45 [Lilia`] She let out an endearing laugh at his given respect for her modesty. So mages were often snobbish about their gifts, but it could be said of most ether touched. Lilia pitied humans that unknowingly and unfortunately found themselves amongst her powerful race. “Thanks again, Doc. ” Maybe he would see her at work in the gauntlet? Cursed by the fact she was younger, they shared no classes and with her workload she rarely had time for mere play. Playfully teasing him as she struggled with Sydney, who was proving to be a difficult patient. Reciting a dated phrase in a sing song voice, she said simply.. <i> “Careful what you wish for.” As for his drift into a conversation regarding the coming dance, Lilia's doe eyes widened in startled, but amused confusion. “Ha. The ball? Of course.” Other than the average female, the flaxen haired could see no fault in going alone. There were plenty of equally non fussed boys who would do the same without a thought, and she could amuse herself by dancing with many or them rather than being restricted to one. Even so, all girls would long for a date. A youthful dream that came hand in hand with feeling special, desired and being treated like a Princess, if even awkwardly for a single night. “Sure. Dorms or the Infirmary, Sydney?” Her blonde hair fell in a pretty wave as she turned her face toward the girl she supported in a struggled attempt, clearly leaving most of the weight to Calyope without intending to. Laughing again, she managed a farewell. “Goodbye sweet Knight. We'll take care of the damsel.” Sharing a conspirational look with Caly' until James returned with awkward charm. Wasn't it only fitting for a teenage boy to think of one thing, even in the face of death? “Um, I d-” He had seemingly asked all three. It was all rather strange, and instead of fighting for his hand amongst girls who may very well be lacking dates as well, she was content to leave him to their mercy. That was, until they both flipped the switch. With Sydney attempting to storm off, and Calyope rudely rejecting the saviour Lilia could only roll her eyes heavenward at the unnecessary dramatics. Girls, really? Awkwarrrrd. Cheeks flaming, the mage sidestepped to follow after the impromptu group and reached out as if to steady or catch the athlete if she were to fall. “Hey. Hey? No, we can take you there. Okay?” Oceanic eyes drifted from one to the other and Lulu found herself confused and uneasy at the sudden eruption. From thanking and sweet exhaustion their patient had grown irate. Common amongst injured, confused people and understandable. Calyope's outburst was a little stranger. “Be nice. He wasn't running off, right?”
22:25:04 James` actually was a little stunned, “Oh...” It’s true that asking at this point was awkward, but he felt he had no other choice, he never got to go out when other students usually did due to his work at the Gauntlet. Putting aside he just saved Sydney’s life, the fact that she did not need to go to the infirmary, she had been healed she just needed her bed, the fact that an escort of male gender to female dorms late at night was suspect. He did not want to have to explain all this shit to his superiors, so much inquiry and paperwork when the job was done and finished. James took in a breath and sighed, “She doesn’t need the infirmary, she’s healed already, she needs to go to her dorm and rest for the next day or two, our infirmary is already busy with patients coming in from the Gauntlet and general accidents, we need the room, no offence. Also, if I go to her dorms I will alarm those around her and you have to understand how bad that can end. I have given you my name and told you my house; you can come to me if anything changes.” He glanced to Lilia who seemed to be the only one not over reacting, “No...I just wanted to let you all know why I was leaving, the ball just popped into my head for some reason and I just spoke..you know?” He looked to Calyope and Sydney, “Take her to her dorm, make sure she gets there, I’m tiring myself she had multiple wounds and I’ve already had a full day of healing.” His eyes once again fell on Lilia, “I know it’s way awkward, but can I please extend my invitation to you Lilia, would you consider going to the ball with me?” This time he would wait for the answer before jogging off, “If you would like to think about it, I’ll be at the Gauntlet or Arcadia house if you would like to reach me or send a message.”
22:33:31 [Sydney] Sydney, in her mind and in some others was a star. She was a Forward for the Tritus team. She was use to being treated as such, and demanded far more in some respects than the average girl. She wasn’t a snob. She wasn’t elite, but she was someone that did something which proved to be a powerful position. Her confidence, her gait, all of which provided her with one thing. Exclusiveness. There was a way to treat someone and a way not to. And in her mind, Jeremy had switched the slip in order to use the situation to his advantage. Not only opting to pull one aside, he’d asked all three to go to the ball with him. Who would do that!? Sydney however was feeling nonplussed. She wasn’t agitated by it, nor did she truly care. If Kyran didn’t show up as she now expected, she would still go to the festivities and still have fun, regardless of being dateless, and of being hurt. She wouldn’t put this pain she felt tonight on the burner to stop herself from enjoying herself at Christmas. Whilst she longed for the Tritus Team Captain to show something of himself, she also understand his weariness for it was always said you never date someone from the team. He had broken that line by asking her to the dance. And in doing so, had likely made it so that Sydney would go alone. She knew she should have said no that fateful day. But regardless, date or not, the women would show, all things considering. She wasn’t ashamed to go it alone. She also understood James’ motives. His words clearing in her mind as he spoke. Perhaps he wasn’t so bad as she initially thought. It was just the fact of almost dying made one almost inept to see what else was around you. “I’m fine. Really. I can make it back on my own. “ The words were spoke with a slight anxiousness. She wasn’t use to be so fussed around. It made her feel awkward and out of place. And indeed she was in her underwear. The fact that James still used this position to get a date though was unnerving. Though her gaze faltered upon the male. He had saved her life. He had given her his strength. She wasn’t ungrateful for it in the least. It’s just his timing had been misappropriated on a grand level. Another time he could have been a hero. “Really.. Just stop fussing over me.” She smiled , her eyes alight with the stars above, her lips parting to reveal white teeth. Her body was of a perfect posture, her form hominid and yet sensual at the same time, provocative and alluring. “Thank you all. Truly. Thank you. But I can make my way back. Your efforts won’t be forgotten though. I promise you..”
22:36:59 Calyope wasn't trying to be super rude to the handsome guy. She was just, irritated he'd saved a life and was almost anxious to leave her in the hands of a water mage and a siren. Caly was really the lastperson you'd wantwith an injured person. She had NO healoing abilities at all. She looked back toSydney. "If you don't like either of those, how about getting some clothes and going for a bite of food." She stretched a bit. Caly wasn't very big. She was only about 5'4 at her tallest. So supporting the taller, more msucular female was a little ,awkward to say the least. She did her best to help her. "Or we can just, ya know, Find you something warm to wear and get inside and go from there. " She had said no for the sheer fact. She'd forgotten the ball entirely. She looked to her housemate and turned a bright shade of red in realization. "OH my goodness, Sydney. YOu're in Tritus. We're house mates." She offered a grin. Caly wasn't a sports person. She had a slight build, athletic. It was from her addiction to swimming. She looked up at her. "Come on. as a fellow Tritus student, I cannot, in good conscience, let you go it alone. adn I'm heading in that direction anyway." Oh, Valid point earns Calyope one point! She batted those dark eyes up at Sydney, then looked back to Lilia. "Wanna get cocoa or something, Lilia?"
22:57:41 [Lilia`] The logic in Jame's departure seemed plain to her, even if he may have been on hand to help her into the castle and perhaps up a few flights of stairs. The dormitories were a long way away and although Sydney was inappropriately dressed, there were two girls present and a valid reason for the lewd manner in which she traversed the halls. Wasn't the girl still splattered with blood and appearing a little dishevelled, even if she was physically well? “I know. It's fine really.” As for the healed girl, Lilia was altogether unaware of her inner turmoil. She had gone without noticing the light in her eyes at her hero and Knight in shining armour, nor the feeling of lifelong connection. If she had, the flaxen haired beauty may have thought it a little odd and ancient to believe that she was hoping an average, teenage male might live up to the charm and princely qualities only found in storybooks. James had acted a quick-thinking, helpful hero. Physically fine and courteously considering her reputation and the rulings of Hex. Where was the fault in that? Lilia saw none. Logical if even in her own, ethereally sweet way the vivacious Lulu glanced from James to Sydney was again trying to depart. “No, you're physically fine but.. you're probably shaky. In shock.” The fall would have been frightening, not to mention the brush with death. “Just let us take you to Tritus okay?” Calyope's slowly reacting comment had her laughing. “And then Calyope can take you to your room, right?” First came one offer. “Cocoa sounds perfect. I'm turning into a snowgirl.” Snow angel, even. Then came another. The flustered girl had left off grabbing the difficult patient, hands on the feminine line of her hips while her chest heaved gently with breaths. She was no athletic star, truly a petite thing that may have passed for a younger age was it not for the adult beauty of the vixen's face, and the indulgent shaping of her inviting body. Her expression seemed all the more alluring with her flustered response to his attention. She barely knew him. “I..” It was odd to ask and answer amongst a group of others, particularly as he'd asked them all initially but Lilia wasn't so proud. He was not asking any of them to be his girlfriend, but merely offering a friendly invitation. “You know what?” Lulu laughed, charming him with a playful wink. “It's date. Friends for the win, right?” Blonde's really did have more fun.
23:14:54 James` looked to Sydney, “It’s ok, please do us all a favour and go with Calyope and Lilia for coca and then bed, doctors orders. I am being serious about coming to see me if there are any changes or if any pain persists.” Perhaps he was a different man when he was practising his ether, maybe something about him changes at the right moment which allows him to perform life saving ether treatments. His mind pondered this form a moment before his hues rested on Lilia’s once more. She accepted his invitation with a playful wink and a smile to match, James returned the water mages’ smile with one of his own, toothy and a little cheeky smile, “Yeah totally, friends.” He held her gaze a moment longer in silence, but only a brief moment before turning to Calyope and Sydney, “Get well soon, it’d be great to see you at the ball.” His eyes met Calyope’s, “All of you.” With that he turned and jogged off, it had been a huge day with an even bigger ending, but hey he saved a life and scored a date to the ball, not a bad result. He knew deep down that his somewhat stand-offish nature was what locked him away in his ether study, but when he did come out to play it was always a big event, after all, he did knock around with Jake and his friends getting into trouble and what not. His thoughts however, still lingered on his treatment of Sydney and the brief bond they shared when he brought her back from the brink of death. (e)
